Key Responsibilities:
- Design and revise tooling, gating, and risering layouts
- Analyze and resolve casting defects
- Support new job start-ups and continuous improvement initiatives
- Create and maintain accurate routings, BOMs, and standard work documents
- Estimate tooling and casting job costs
- Work directly with customers to resolve dimensional or form/fit issues
- Use problem-solving tools (5 Why, Fishbone, A3, etc.) and data-driven decision making
- Stay current on new technologies and methods to enhance efficiency and competitiveness
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
- Experience: 2 years in iron foundry casting/tooling engineering
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of foundry processes and tooling design
- Experience with CAD and simulation tools (SolidWorks, MAGMA preferred)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Able to read and interpret blueprints
- Physically able to work in both office and shop floor environments
- Salary: $75,000–$90,000/year, based on experience
