School Social Worker
Position Definition and Summary:
Under direct supervision of the School Director, assists with coordination and implementation of the therapeutic component of The Lead School.
Position Expectations and Essential Functions:
- Assist in planning, scheduling and implementing Psychosocial Groups
- Show innovation within the Psychosocial Group curriculum while abiding to DESE, General Learning Expectations and mandated topics for the State of Missouri as well as ASCA guidelines.
- Review Individualized Educational Plans with the School Therapist to integrate needs into Therapeutic Support programming.
- Provide oral or written input regarding students’ therapeutic progress for meetings with various staff, community resources and school districts.
- Maintain all required forms of documentation such as Individual Meeting Notes, Group Planning Sheets, Attendance trackers.
- Complete all training required for employment at The Lead School and professional certifications that benefit the Therapeutic Support Services Program.
- Participate in developing professional knowledge and skills by seeking learning opportunities.
- Support the favorable public image of the school.
- Conduct one to one meetings with identified students using a Solution Focused Brief Therapy format
- Prepare and execute professional development presentations using knowledge of adult learning styles.
- Assist in composing monthly Newsletter entries regarding the Therapeutic Support Program in a timely manner.
- Obtain and maintain supplies and items specified for the Psychosocial Groups that they are assigned to facilitate
- Use Missouri Connections and a variety of career assessments to help students determine their interests, strengths, and learning styles, in setting goals for a future career path.
- Participate in maintaining the therapeutic component of the school through modeling, teaching and enforcing the rules and expectations of The Lead School.
- Comply with applicable standards of conduct and regulations governing delivery of services.
- Contribute in creating and maintaining a safe, orderly and therapeutic physical environment for everyone at The Lead School.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Position Requirements:
Education
Preferred Masters Degree in School Counseling/ Social Work or within one year of receiving Masters Degree
Will consider Bachelors degree with experience.
Other Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older
A minimum of two years experience in a related setting is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,500.00 - $59,900.00 per year
