What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager, Revenue Accounting position at The Leading Hotels?
The Manager, Revenue Accounting for the end-to-end contract to cash cycle, with a heavy emphasis on technical revenue recognition skills, data analytics, risk control and our customers' experience. You will be reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Global Accounting with exposure to senior executives. Opportunity to grow within the organization.
This is a full-time position, based in New York City. We have a hybrid work model; the Manager, Revenue Accounting is expected to report to the NYC office 2 days per week.
Day to Day :
- Establish and maintain appropriate company revenue recognition policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure revenue is properly recorded and reported in accordance with ASC 606
- Streamline existing policies, processes, controls, and recommend value-adding changes; initiate, assist, and implement automation whenever or wherever possible to scale for growth
- Oversee a team of two with responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of all monthly billing and revenue entries including the preparation of all balance sheet and income statement reconciliations in accordance with monthly close calendar
- Manage and mentor a strong team of accounting professionals through clear communication of goals and career development
- Oversee the international collection process by implementing collection strategies, improving DSO and updating the bad debt analysis as needed
- Create, develop, and maintain key revenue reporting including relevant reconciliations, flux analysis, disaggregation of revenue reports and working with FP&A on revenue budgeting and forecasting
- Perform technical research and consult with management and the external auditors to ensure that proper accounting treatment is applied and documented
- Consider implication of new accounting pronouncements on current policies and provide support on adoption of such standards
- Work with the cross-functional team on new business arrangement, revenue modeling, pricing strategy and revenue recognition considerations
