POSITION SUMMARY:
The lifeguard is responsible to keep students safe during physical education classes and during free swim during the Summer Swim Program.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Staff Development and Training
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining the pool area during pool hours.
Keeping the area free of debris and emptying the garbage, as needed.
Duties include monitoring pool chemicals and ensuring the environment is safe for swimming.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Certified Pool Operators, Department Supervisor and/or Program Leader.

Requirements
- Strong swimmer required, previous experience as Lifeguard preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Certified Lifeguard or previous Lifeguard Training completion preferred
- Lifeguard Certification course available with Summer Swim Program Commitment
- Flexible hours - days, evenings, weekends
- A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language required, with native, or near-native ASL fluency preferred
- Lifting may be required
- ASL Classes may be required based on ASL fluency
- Meals included when on duty
