The Learning Cottage is looking for a loving and nurturing Infant Teacher to engage with and enjoy young children, by easing them into the beautiful world around them. We are proud to say our team and children learn and play together!
This classroom is a home away from home for infants experiencing school for the first time. With a ratio of 1:4 (2:8) your day is truly filled with love and connective/ fun moments.
Working with children this age, you will guide them through curricula such as Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Sign Language, Art & Music and Sensorial activities.

Responsibilities
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
- Observe and encourage each child to help them build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other respectfully
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)
- Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Collaborate with other educators
- Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience in a Infant Setting
- Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Ability to act as mediator between children
- Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable
- Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen
- Completed 45 hrs DCF courses & Child Development Associates
