What are the responsibilities and job description for the FullTime Child Care Assistant Teacher position at The Learning Den, LLC?
Currently hiring a part time employee to assist with opening the daycare center every morning, welcoming families in, and assisting teachers to get settled. This position supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring, welcoming, and safe environment for the children as well as assisting in morning activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. The right candidate must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment.
Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Assistant Teacher observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Also, they are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction/supervision of the Teacher and the Director.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Arrive punctually each day
- Welcome families into the center, ensure all parents sign their children in, and help get each child settled and to their classroom effectively.
- Review learning material with students, either individually or in small groups, to help reinforce lessons presented by lead teachers
- Supervise students in class, during lunch hour, playtime or recess, and at special events
- Aid in teaching appropriate behavior and social skills to students
- Assist in enforcing classroom rules
- Assist with record keeping, such as attendance records, student progress notes and grades
- Help teachers prepare for lessons by assembling materials and equipment
- Provide personal aid and care as necessary to students, such as help with hygiene, eating or toileting, for example
- Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials
- Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to child care center.
- Follow all center policies and state regulations.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High energy
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- An understanding of child development.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
- medication administration training certificate preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
