This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading early education company that is dedicated to providing a nurturing and safe environment for children to learn and grow.Responsibilities : Lead the negotiation and drafting of commercial lease agreements and related documentation, including estoppels, SNDAs, amendments, work letters, and default noticesAnalyze lease terms, business contracts, and franchise agreements to provide strategic guidance on risk management and business implications to executive leadership, internal departments and franchiseesCollaborate with Real Estate, Operations, Franchise Development, Construction, and other internal business teams to structure favorable terms and resolve complex legal issuesProvide legal support for various corporate transactions and business agreements to advance company objectivesDevelop and maintain standard forms and processes across real estate and franchise documentation to ensure consistency and efficiencyOversee compliance monitoring and resolution of defaults across lease and franchise portfoliosStay current on relevant laws and regulations affecting commercial real estate to ensure best practicesManage relationships with outside counsel and work closely with senior leadership on strategic initiativesSupport corporate initiatives and special projects as neededPerform other duties as assigned by the Chief Legal OfficerRequirements : Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the Florida Bar or eligibility for admission as in-house counselMinimum of 5 years of commercial real estate legal experience is required including extensive experience in drafting and negotiating commercial real estate leases, ideally gained at a well-regarded law firm. Additional in-house, employment, and franchise experience a plus.Excellent contract negotiation and management experience necessaryStrong commercial leasing experience critical; employment and / or franchise law experience a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact effectively and appropriately with diverse backgrounds and levels of the organizationAbility to work independently while delivering excellent business results under demanding timetablesStrong research and analysis skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with quick deadlines and multiple demands.
