This job is for an FULL-TIME ASSISTANT TODDLER TEACHER. The job has a fixed weekly schedule of 7:30-4 with a lunch break each day.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a safe and fun environment for the children at our center
- Assist with implementing curriculum and lesson plans for children in a daycare setting
- Work with lead teacher to ensure smooth daily operations in the classroom
- Monitor and supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Play with, talk to, and read to children
- Assist with mealtimes and simple food prep
- Follow daily routines such as mealtime, nap time, and diaper changes/toileting
-Clean as needed
-Ensure that your classroom is in ratio per NYS OCFS regulations
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) OR one year of experience working with children under 13 years of age
- Be able to sit on the floor to play with children, talk with/to the children, and want to spend time with children
-Be able to lift and carry children
-Show up for scheduled shifts so the center can remain in compliance with NYS regulations
- Reliable Transportation
- Positive attitude
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team
- Friendly personality and willingness to interact with parents during pickup/drop off
- Two references, at least one must be an employment (supervisory) reference
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- At least one year working in a childcare setting
