Your Role as an Intervention Specialist
- Behavior Science Application – Apply the principles of behavior science to educate and manage students.
- Data-Driven Practice – Implement “Precision Teaching” and/or discrete-trial training, record accurate data, and use data to make decisions.
- Explicit Instruction – Apply “Mathletics” to daily instruction, implement direct instruction programs and techniques, and perform habit training duties.
- Student Management – Implement principles of behavior science to effectively manage student behavior, adhere to the classroom management tier assigned to each student, fill out and review each student’s classroom log, correctly and appropriately use prescribed crisis intervention programs, supervise and execute school activities inside and outside the classroom, and arrange and maintain a safe and effective classroom environment.
- Data-Based Decision Making – Use formal academic and behavior data to implement interventions and use anecdotal observations to guide the speed, type, and direction of instruction.
Required Qualifications:
- Must hold a four-year degree from an accredited program
- Must hold a valid and current Intervention Specialist license issued by the Ohio Department of Education
