Job Overview:
The Leavitt Center is seeking a talented and passionate Dance Instructor to join our team! We are looking for an individual with a strong background in dance who is excited to teach students of all ages (3 ) in a variety of dance styles. Whether it's ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, or other forms of dance, we’re looking for someone who can inspire students to develop their technique, creativity, and self-confidence. The Dance Instructor will play a key role in fostering an appreciation for dance and the arts, helping students of all ages express themselves and achieve their personal best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Instruction: Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans for each semester, ensuring high-quality instruction that focuses on dance technique, expression, and performance skills.
- Dance Technique: Teach foundational and advanced dance techniques in the style(s) of your expertise, including but not limited to ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, or tap.
- Student Development: Encourage students to develop their dance technique, improve their coordination, and express themselves creatively through movement. Provide constructive feedback to help students grow.
- Performance & Showcases: Conclude each semester with a performance or recital that highlights the students’ progress and achievements.
- Safety & Environment: Ensure a clean, organized, and safe space for students to learn, practice, and perform.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a dancer and/or dance instructor.
- Expertise in one or more dance styles (ballet, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, etc.).
- Ability to teach students of all ages, from young children to teens and adults.
- Experience in preparing students for performances, recitals, or showcases.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
