Title: Youth Program Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Programs
Status: Full-Time, hybrid
Compensation: $18-$22 per hour

POSITION PROFILE AND SUMMARY
The Youth Program Coordinator (YPC) works with the Director of Programs to administer and
deliver assigned youth programs. This position involves assisting instructors, leading sessions
with youth, and supporting other tasks related to youth programming. The YPC serves as the
primary point of contact with youth and facilitates a youth-centered environment. The YPC will
also help build partnerships with schools and community organizations, maintain communication
with parents, and participate in professional development.
Currently, the Youth Program Coordinator supports:

Youth Artist Apprenticeship Program (school year and summer)
●
Learn and Earn Program
●
The Saturday Institute
●
Drums Not Guns
●
The Summer Program
The YPC will also contribute to new programs as they arise and special events.
JOB DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
●
Facilitate coordination of assigned youth programming
●
Assist the Director of Community Programs in outreach, marketing, and community
engagement
●
Help foster and build new partnerships with schools and community organizations
●
Assist with logistics and administrative tasks (record-keeping, reporting)
●
Attend and actively participate in staff meetings
●
Maintain contact and communication with parents to ensure program engagement
Pre-Camp or Pre-Program Responsibilities:
●
Coordinate and participate in staff orientation and professional development
●
Assist with curriculum development and modification
●
Help set up programming, including preparing sites and materials
●
Assist with planning special activities (field trips, events, etc.)
●
Assist in identifying Teaching Artists and creating class schedule
●
Spearhead the acquisition of Senior Camp Counselors
During Programming Responsibilities:
●
Supervise program staff, including instructors and senior counselors
●
Oversee weekly coordination of youth programs and camps
●
Foster positive relationships with youth, parents, and staff
●
Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
●
Coordinate field trips and final performances
Administrative Tasks Include:
●
Overseeing program-related administrative tasks, including data collection and reporting
●
Participating in staff retreats, HR activities, and ongoing professional development
●
Managing program supplies and ensuring proper inventory
●
Communicating effectively with parents, partners, and staff
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
●
Minimum of two years’ experience in teaching, youth development, or project
management
●
Strong leadership, organizational, and collaboration skills
●
Experience in arts and performing arts education
●
Ability to supervise staff and facilitate youth programs
●
Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, nonverbal)
●
Proficient in MS Office Suite, email, Google Drive, and related tools
●
Valid driver's license or state ID (preferred: access to a car)
REPORTING STRUCTURE
The Youth Program Coordinator reports to the Director of Community Programs.
Note: Must attain current for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal Record, FBI PA Department of
Education, Mandated Reporter Certificate, and National Sex Offender Registry Verification to be
