Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs, ensuring our facilities are safe, clean, and functional. This role also includes light security responsibilities, such as monitoring premises, securing entrances, and assisting in emergency situations.
Responsibilities:
Maintenance Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform minor repairs in areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks, including replacing filters, light bulbs, and other consumables.
- Maintain cleanliness of facilities by performing tasks like mopping, dusting, and waste removal.
- Assist with landscaping duties, such as mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and snow removal.
- Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
Security Duties
- Monitor and patrol premises to prevent unauthorized access, vandalism, or other security breaches.
- Ensure all doors, windows, and gates are properly secured after hours.
- Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances promptly.
- Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first-aid responses.
- Report any suspicious activities or security incidents to the appropriate authorities.
Experience:
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in using hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of building systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and respond to emergencies.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in facility maintenance; prior experience in a security role is a plus.
- Certifications: Valid driver's license; security certification preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays based on facility needs.
- Physical activities include lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
