What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pro Shop Manager position at The Legacy Golf Club?
The Legacy Golf Club is searching for a full-time employee who will help oversee the golf operation. He/she will work alongside the management team to develop and implement programs while also providing exceptional guest service and managing the clubhouse staff. As a member of the Golf Management Team, he/she will also oversee the golf shop, golf range, golf services areas and golf car operation.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Assist in hiring, developing and managing clubhouse staff performance and service. Expected to supervise golf cart attendants, pro shop personnel, rangers, etc.
- Establish employee handbook along with proper hiring, training, supervising and taking corrective action if needed.
- Oversee the development of training manuals and procedures for the golf operation.
- Develop operating procedures to ensure smooth daily business practices.
- Conducts staff meetings and communicates company information to employees.
- Oversee and enforce golf shop operations policies, procedures, and fee structures.
- Must be proficient and knowledgeable of The Legacy golf rules and standards.
- Assist in developing, promoting and directing golf tournaments, leagues and outings.
- Create campaigns, newsletters and social media marketing. Must also handle daily communications in a timely manner.
- Oversee golf marketing initiatives including all promotional materials, play recruitment, golf packages, and outside events.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent, Food & Beverage Manager and other department heads.
- Orders merchandise for golf shop, providing the best selection possible at the highest margins possible given merchandise turnover goals.
- Supervise daily, weekly, and monthly physical inventories of merchandise and the display of this merchandise.
- Maintain attractive, orderly appearance and clean pro shop.
- Participate in community organizations that heighten the club’s profile.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations.
- Experienced in written and oral business communications.
- Remain up to date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies.

Job Requirements
- A four-year college degree preferred, but not required.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Understanding of course administration and operation practices and procedures
