JOB SUMMARY
This role serves as the primary point of contact for end-user IT support at The Legal Aid Society of Rochester (LASROC). They will provide premiere service and support to all internal end-users and maintain communication with external partners on ongoing projects under the direction of the Systems Administrator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Diagnoses and responds to IT troubleshooting requests via various communication channels for issues related to networks, PC hardware/software, cloud services, telephones, printers, conferencing tools, security, emergencies, and others as needed.
- Independently researches and resolves complex technical problems.
- Monitors the IT inventory system to ensure proper asset protection protocols and reporting.
- Maintains advanced proficiency with LASROC’s software and hardware tools.
- Provides occasional on-site support and inventory control at remote offices.
- Applies updates to end-user systems and peripherals as assigned.
- Regularly monitors system logs to identify potential security breaches, bottlenecks, or other system issues.
- Performs routine backups and ensures data recovery systems are operational.
- Creates and updates user-friendly guides, FAQs, and training materials for staff to promote self-sufficiency in resolving common IT issues.
- Conducts periodic training sessions for staff on software updates, security protocols, and new tools.
- Supports other LASROC units and staff as needed per the Systems Administrator.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, or similar) may substitute for formal education.
- 2 years of experience in IT support or a related role, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Hands-on experience with end-user support in diverse IT environments.
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Experience with IT asset management and inventory systems.
- Prior experience supporting remote offices or hybrid work environments.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
- High proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Google Apps, and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with SonicWall, and Axis preferred but not required at time of hire.
- Must be a team player and have a positive and cooperative work attitude.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- Possess strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and community partners.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Proficient in technologies relevant to a hybrid work environment (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc.).

Salary : $57,250 - $69,250
