Job Overview Legends is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our Augusta team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and improve their quality of life. Duties Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Monitor and document patient behaviors and progress, ensuring that all information is accurately recorded. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with health care plans. Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, fostering a positive environment. Engage clients in social activities and community integration opportunities to promote social skills. Implement individualized care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other support staff to coordinate care effectively. Requirements Previous experience in a nursing home, group home, or home health setting is preferred. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and medication administration is essential. Familiarity with first aid practices is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals on the autism spectrum or those with other developmental disabilities. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. A background in social work or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
