Job Purpose
The Director of Admissions plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission of Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts by fostering creativity and academic excellence. This position requires a dynamic and strategic leader who will effectively represent the school’s values and artistic vision while managing all aspects of student recruitment, admissions, and enrollment.
The Director of Admissions is responsible for ensuring a welcoming, transparent, and equitable admissions experience, engaging with prospective students and families from initial inquiry through enrollment. This role also involves data-driven decision-making, trend analysis, and collaboration with administrators, faculty, and community partners to support strategic initiatives and enrollment growth.

Exempt, with occasional evening and weekend hours required for admissions-related events
Salary Range
$60,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
Prior experience in education, admissions and/or enrollment management
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Deep understanding of best practices in admissions policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, parents, and staff.
- Experience in recruitment and/or marketing is highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Admissions & Enrollment Management
Oversee student outreach, admissions, and enrollment processes for new and transfer students.
Establish and manage admissions goals, timelines, and benchmarks in collaboration with school leadership.
Develop and implement individualized outreach strategies to engage prospective students and families.
Analyze and report on enrollment trends, providing data-driven insights to inform admissions strategies.
Develop an annual admissions plan outlining initiatives to increase awareness and applications.
Ensure timely and effective communication with prospective students and families throughout the admissions process.
Manage and oversee the shadow program for potential students.
Present admissions data, strategies, and progress at board meetings as needed.
Community Engagement & Outreach
Plan and oversee all aspects of Open House events, student auditions, and school tours.
Establish relationships with charter schools and community organizations to expand student outreach efforts.
Collaborate with artistic directors and faculty to identify key community events to showcase the uniqueness of Charter Arts.
Lead planning and execution of Middle School visits, information sessions, and marketing initiatives.
Coordinate and implement New Student Orientation in partnership with administrators and faculty.
Serve as faculty advisor for the Student Ambassadors program.
Organize and oversee Back-to-School Night events.
Audition & Admissions Process
Design and manage a year-round audition and admissions process.
Schedule and oversee artistic auditions and academic reviews for prospective students.
Provide clear and thorough communication regarding application requirements and deadlines.
Collaborate with artistic directors to evaluate candidates and maintain a waiting list for each discipline.
Ensure timely processing of decision letters based on admissions evaluations and interviews.
Student Records & Compliance
Maintain compliance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and other student privacy laws.
Oversee student record-keeping, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
Coordinate with counseling staff to ensure seamless student file management.
Request and manage educational records from previous institutions.
Maintain enrollment data in PowerSchool and oversee PA Secure ID management.
Collaborate with the Business Manager on tuition billing and student residency updates.
Facilitate communication with school districts to verify student enrollment.
Manage student withdrawal processes, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
Physical Requirements
Ability to operate standard office equipment and use technology relevant to the role.
Ability to sit for extended periods (approximately 60% of the workday).
Ability to walk and stand (approximately 35% of the workday).
Ability to drive for recruitment and outreach events (approximately 5% of the workday).
Manual dexterity for keyboarding and handling documents.
Ability to lift materials weighing between 15 and 30 pounds as needed.
