Summary :
The Dozer Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating bulldozers to perform earthmoving, grading, and site preparation tasks on large-scale civil construction projects. This role requires experience operating 1650, 2250, 2050, or 850 model dozers . Familiarity with Grade Control systems (Trimble, Topcon, Leica) is preferred. The Dozer Operator will work as part of a construction crew to support excavation, material movement, and grading operations in compliance with safety regulations and project specifications .
Responsibilities :
- Operate heavy machinery, including bulldozers (1650, 2250, 2050, 850 models) , to perform grading, excavation, and site preparation tasks.
- Adjust machine settings and controls to complete tasks accurately and efficiently according to project specifications .
- Interpret hand signals and verbal instructions from spotters and supervisors to position materials correctly.
- Perform land clearing, trenching, and material movement while maintaining precise elevations and slopes.
- Utilize Grade Control systems (if applicable) to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and supplies as needed.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and complete the Daily Equipment Inspection Checklist to ensure the proper functioning of machinery.
- Perform minor maintenance, cleaning, and servicing of equipment to maintain operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and all company policies while working on active construction sites.
- Maintain awareness of surrounding crew members, utilities, and structures to operate machinery safely.
- Support other craft workers and assist with manual labor tasks as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or project manager .
