The Academic Achievement Instructional Coach is responsible for supporting schools in providing quality support and increased academic achievement throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio. The coach, having both content and instructional expertise will work as a colleague with building instructional coaches and classroom teachers to support student learning and teacher practice. The focus will be on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction for teachers.

Requirements
and Desired Education and Qualifications:
- Current Teaching or Administration Certification in Michigan (required)
- Three or more years of teaching experience (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education (required)
- Master’s Degree in curriculum development/design or educational leadership (desired)
- Instructional coaching experience (desired)
- Familiarity with the State accountability systems for Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
- Support the philosophy and vision of schools managed by The Leona Group.
- Expected travel to schools and professional development opportunities throughout Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.
- Develop systems of Instructional Learning Cycles (ILC) with coaches and teachers.
- Effectively use data to teach, assess, analyze, re-teach, re-assess, and reflect on implementing each academy's chosen curriculum resources successfully.
- Facilitates teachers’ understanding and implementation of the State standards and the ILC through intentional professional development and collaborative working sessions.
- Creates detailed professional development plans with the school leadership team which drives the ILC.
- Provides clear and direct feedback to leadership teams and the teachers based on analysis of practice during and after the ILC.
- Develops both the instructional coaches’ and the teachers’ capacity to collect and analyze multiple sources of data to improve student learning.
- Provide leadership teams, instructional coaches, and teachers with research-based resources that support best instructional practices and are aligned to the State Standards.
- Work with instructional coaches and grade-level teams to support common instructional practices, common assessments, and alignment.
- Fosters collaboration with all stakeholders and teacher leadership.

- Ability to work independently and as a team member to accomplish tasks through collaboration.
- Ability to produce accurate work with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience creating and providing professional presentations to small or large groups.
- Ability to communicate and articulate clearly, largely in person, by phone and by email.
- Ability to manage many tasks concurrently.
- Moderate to high proficiency with basic computer applications, professional development presentation software, Google Classroom, Google Suite, database and spreadsheet tools.
- Willingness to learn about 21st-century education, best practices to increase student academic performance in the field of education, current school improvement initiatives and the accountability measures to provide quality service for school leaders, academic coaches and teachers.
