What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at The Library?
We are looking for a Dishwasher to join our kitchen staff and maintain cleanliness of our restaurant.
Dishwasher responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates and utensils, loading washing machines and stacking washed items appropriately. If you want to kickstart your career in the restaurant industry and be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, wed like to meet you. Note that this role requires working in shifts and, occasionally, during evenings or weekends.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to safely operate a commercial dish machine
- Ability to manage safe use of chemicals for cleaning and sanitizing
- Ability to re-stock and move effortlessly between active cook lines
- Cleaning and organizing duties are completed accurately and on time
- Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef or Kitchen Manager at any time
Qualifications:
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
- Ability to take direction
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organized
General Physical Demands for the Position:
- Dishwashers will regularly stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, turn, lift, talk, walk, walk on uneven ground, carry and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
