Building Security

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Makes scheduled rounds at the beginning of each shift and hourly thereafter of the building and grounds to ensure security and detects conditions that could result in injury or loss due to fire, water leakage, or spills.
2. Investigates and documents accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, safety and fire hazards and other security-related situations.
3. The ability to effectively communicate with law enforcement, emergency medical services, and property management.
4. Updates security logbook with detailed information of events of shift, or as requested by the property manager.
5. Provides any needed assistance to clients, employees, and visitors following the department’s procedures.
6. Vacuums common areas on the first floor of La Luz building if working the 12am to 8am or any other schedule that includes these hours.
7. Snow removal from La Luz and Las Alas sidewalks and parking lots. This will include shoveling lose snow and applying salt.
8. Performs other duties as assigned. By the property manager or Director of Operations.

SKILLS:
1. Knowledge of security operations, safety practices.
2. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, bi-lingual preferred.
3. Ability to make independent, sound decisions within policy and procedures.
4. Ability to respond to crisis situations in an effective, safe manner.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Licensure: None
Experience: Security experience a plus
Physical
Requirements: Able to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 pounds.
OSHA-related: Work is performed inside and on facility grounds with occasional exposure to
inclement weather. Moderate exposure to VDT. Exposure to bodily fluids and
hazardous materials considered minimal.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
