What are the responsibilities and job description for the Allied Health Clinical Instructor position at The Lifelong Learning Center?
JOB GOAL: Under the direction of the Adult Education Director and in collaboration with the Allied Health Education Coordinator and Adult Education Supervisor, this assignment is responsible for classroom instruction, and clinical supervision, and assists with future development and success of allied health training programs
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instruct course material approved by the State of Montana or by National Healthcare Association curriculum that meets the requirements for a C.N.A., Clinical Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, or another program.
- Review course material, textbooks, technical literature, instructional videos, and provide updates as necessary to comply with requirements as an approved training site.
- Coordinate and provide recommendations for specialized speakers and/or instructors to enhance course requirements.
- Supervise and be on premise for all clinical activities as required by the training curriculum in the classroom and with off-site facilities.
- Complete student evaluation, competency checklist, and other registry requirements as described by the training program.
- Assist with development and suggestions for Allied Health clinical continuing education.
- Assist with Certification exam requirements (with assigned Proctor) for program training completion.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Allied Education Coordinator or the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Montana.
- Must have two (2) years of nursing experience, one (1) of which has been in the provision of long-term care services.
- Obtain certification(s) as required by the State of Montana and/or other associations to quality as clinical instructor
- Supervision of nurse aides with demonstrated competence of required training.
- Experience in adult education and training.
- Ability to utilize technology for instruction, organization and communication.
- Ability to instruct adult students utilizing a variety of instructional methods and resources.
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with students, staff, and the healthcare community.
Typical program offerings:
C.N.A. 2x per-year (with each class running approx.12-weeks two-evening per-week, some Saturdays) Phlebotomy Once per-year (approx.12-weeks two-evening per-week, some Saturdays) Clinical Medical Assistant Once per-year (approx.12-weeks two-evening per-week, some Saturdays)
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a short-term assignment. Compensation is at the rate of $32 per instructional hour and $28 per hour for non-instructional time.
