Are you passionate about helping individuals with special needs achieve greater independence and success? The Light House, a nonprofit in Southeastern Connecticut, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Life Skills Coach to join our DDS Day Program.

As a Life Skills Coach, you’ll be part of a collaborative and innovative team, helping individuals develop essential life skills through hands-on activities, community integration, and personalized support.

What You’ll Do
- Provide supervision, guidance, and instruction to individuals with disabilities, including personal care, behavioral interventions, and medication administration
- Develop and lead engaging activities that promote independence, social skills, and community integration
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in alignment with their support plans
- Provide safe transportation using Light House vehicles
- Maintain accurate program documentation and progress reports

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Experience with learning and behavioral support is helpful
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Must pass background checks and registry screenings
- Willingness to obtain CT DDS Medication Administration Certification and a V endorsement for transporting students (if requested)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and balance for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to drive multi-passenger vehicles throughout the day
Salary & Benefits
- $18.75 - $20.00 per hour, based on experience
