We are currently seeking a person who identifies strongly with our mission and core values to join our team in Seattle, WA as a Production Planning Expediter. The ideal candidate should have scheduling experience within the machining and aerospace industry, a high attention to detail, excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to work well in stressful situations. Purchasing experience a plus.
Purpose:
To expedite work for production and track it through the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
- Process all jobs including scheduling and maintaining documentations.
- Maintain customer specific delivery portals.
- Point of contact for miscellaneous aerospace customers for delivery requests and schedules.
- Utilize ERP system as well as independent systems to help monitor and expedite parts in support of customer deliveries.
- Open and print customer shop work orders, print drawings, and any related documentation.
- Process, check-in, and verify customer furnished raw material. Notify customer of any discrepancies.
- Order any supplies, raw material, hardware, or tooling required to manufacture parts.
- Understand how to create packing slips to ship parts to outside process e.g. heat treat and finish or directly to customers.
- Develop reporting and analysis tools to help streamline the customer inquiry process.
- Creates purchase orders and manages delivery schedules for outshop heat treat, finish and machining suppliers.
- Creates purchase orders for raw material and hardware to support miscellaneous aerospace customers.
- Work closely with production leads, supervisors and managers to prioritize work.
- Work closely with purchasing department to resolve any material shortages.
- Maintain a team philosophy in all areas of planning, coordination and problem solving. Work closely with individuals in production, engineering, planning, quality assurance and purchasing to achieve production goals.
- Assist other company expeditors in processing all new job orders, which includes scheduling the job and maintaining all related documentation.
- Assist other company expeditors in processing checking in, and verifying material. Notify expeditor of any discrepancies.
- Performs duties in conformance to company BMS and AS9100/ISO standards and procedures.
- Ensures the adherence to production safety and health standards, policies and procedures.
- Immediately notify supervisor and/or Safety Manager of any safety and health concerns and problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- College degree preferred. Can substitute minimum 2 years experience in a machine shop production scheduling environment for the college degree.
- Effective problem solving abilities.
- Strong organization and prioritizing skills required.
- Computer skills, including proficiency with Excel. Numbers orientated.
- ERP System experience preferred, Oracle experience a plus.
- Ability to navigate websites.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and problem solve effectively.
- Ability to work schedule as assigned.
