Facilities Manager

Lighthouse Mission Ministries

Schedule: Full-time, On-site

Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000 DOE 


Position Description:  The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, security, and functionality of all physical facilities at Lighthouse Mission Ministries (LMM). This role requires a dedicated professional with strong management skills, an eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment for all staff, students, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in facilities management and be proactive in identifying and solving issues to support the smooth operation of LMM’s programs and services.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of all LMM facilities, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and optimal functioning.
  • Manage the restoration team, providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure high standards of performance and safety.
  • Coordinate the repair, maintenance, and improvement of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general upkeep.
  • Develop and manage facility maintenance schedules, ensuring all necessary tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with programming staff on facility security and safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, and service providers, ensuring all work is performed to the required standards.
  • Oversee facility-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas for improvement and address maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all staff, residents, and visitors.
  • Lead emergency response efforts for facility-related crises, including fires, flooding, or power outages, and ensure proper reporting and resolution.
  • Foster a collaborative relationship with other departments to support their facility needs and requests.
  • Support sustainability initiatives by identifying and implementing energy-saving measures and environmentally-friendly practices.
  • Manage facility-related supplies and inventory, ensuring an adequate stock of essential materials for daily operations, maintenance and repairs.

Organizational Relationships:

  • Works independently and collaboratively with other team members.
  • Represents LMM to vendors and outside agencies in the course of daily work.
  • Reports directly to the Chief Infrastructure Officer. 

Qualifications:

  • Agreement with the Lighthouse Mission’s Statement of Faith and adherence to the Life & Personal Covenant, as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Building Systems, or a related field (relevant experience considered).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Proficiency in using facilities management software, Adobe and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative to address facility-related issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

  • Standing 40%; walking 40%; sitting 20%
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate forklift and other facility-related equipment.
  • Occasional outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.
