Board of Directors of LINC Academy and the Chief Schools Officer of the Management Company/ Operator.
Summary:
LINC Academy is a new K-5 community school in the Columbus, OH area. The Founding School Leader will oversee all strategic planning, and day-to-day instructional and operational activities. Essential functions include strategy and mission, instructional and cultural leadership, management and administration, governance and compliance, development and community relations. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors in Ohio as well as the CSO of the Management Company/ Operator and will directly supervise a team of teachers, counselors, and school support staff.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Educational Vision and Leadership
• Communicate effectively with LINC Academies Board of Directors and provide, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions as well as assist with long-range strategic objectives and ensure timely attention to critical operational issues
• Lead in a manner that supports and guides LINC Academy's strategy and mission
• Develop and implement a strategy for increasing the number of students enrolled and served at LINC Academy.
• Create a platform for strong instructional leadership in an elementary school environment.
• Improve the quality of LINC Academy, ensuring that each grade is best in class both academically and in the culture of the programming.
• Utilize data to inform practice, assess the school and student performance, and ensure continuous improvement
• Work collaboratively with board and staff to ensure that the strategy and mission is accomplished and sustained
• Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
Management, Supervision and Support
• Provide general oversight of all organizational activities, oversees the day-to-day operations, and assures a smoothly functioning, efficient organization
• Lead and manage a team of education and counseling professionals
• Ensure the delivery of qualitative and quantitative goals for all team members and track outcomes in regards to LINC's programs and services.
• Deploy resources efficiently and effectively toward organization goals, working with staff to balance workload and effort, and provide regular feedback so that key staff can continuously improve their supervision and mentoring skills
• Build a culture of collaboration and teamwork to build a community for staff and families
Community Engagement
• Cultivate a work environment that recruits, retains, and supports quality staff and volunteers
• Serve as the chief liaison to key constituencies both internally and externally
• Cultivate relationships with various educational organizations throughout Franklin County and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance LINC's mission
• Serve as a liaison to key government agencies, including the Ohio Department of Education
• Develop a team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward vision and goal, by clearly communicating agency vision, implementing yearly staff development plans, and mentoring
Skills:
• Expert knowledge of Ohio Department of Education standards and codes
• Experience leading schools through licensing and accreditation processes
• Attention to detail and experience collecting, analyzing, and using data to inform and improve program performance and outcomes
• Systems thinker who is customer-focused and goal-driven
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholders and constituencies
• Strong relationship builder with the ability to find common ground, build consensus and strengthen the collaboration among diverse stakeholders
• Passion for the organizations mission and purpose and an ability to communicate this passion to others
• Strong community awareness and astuteness
• Demonstrated commitment to the values of diversity, collaboration, and empowerment
Education and Experience:
• Master's Degree required, preferably in educational leadership; Doctorate degree preferred but not required
• Ohio principal or teaching certificate preferred, not required
• Previous leadership and/ instructional experience in an educational organization; track record of successfully meeting or exceeding organizational targets, achieving ambitious goals, and data that demonstrates significant organizational or department impact
Work Environment:
The job operates in a professional work and educational environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position that may require weeknight or weekend work.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local with occasional out-of-town and/or overnight travel.
