Position Overview:
We are seeking an innovative and passionate History Teacher for grades 6-9 who will inspire students to explore history through inquiry, analysis, and creativity. The ideal candidate is committed to engaging students in meaningful discussions, hands-on projects, and interdisciplinary connections that bring historical events and themes to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, inquiry-based history lessons that promote critical thinking and real-world connections.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages discussion, debate, and diverse perspectives.
- Utilize innovative teaching strategies, including project-based learning, primary source analysis, and technology integration.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate history with other subjects and interdisciplinary projects.
- Encourage students to see history as a dynamic and evolving narrative that shapes the present and future.
- Support students in developing strong research, writing, and reasoning skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in History, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience teaching middle school or early high school students, preferably in an inquiry-based or project-based learning environment.
- Passion for fostering curiosity, creativity, and analytical thinking in students.
- Ability to incorporate technology and innovative instructional methods.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with neurodivergent students is a plus.
