Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our team in Dannemora, NY. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and building standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure project compliance by inspecting construction work and materials to ensure adherence to building standards and project specifications;
- Develop and implement schedules for subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time;
- Maintain quality control by monitoring work and materials to ensure that quality control standards are met at various stages of the project;
- Provide leadership and guidance to the project team and support each subcontractor to execute their job duties effectively and efficiently;
- Manage and maintain records of project activities, including daily logs, visitor records, and material usage;
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary;
Requirements:
- Minimum three (3) years of trade experience or comparable training in inspection of large-scale building projects valued above $1 million;
- OSHA 30 certification is required;
- A willingness to work inside minimum and maximum security prisons;
- An ability to pass a criminal background check;
- A willingness to respond to calls off normal hours and occasionally work extra hours to meet project needs;
- An ability to work autonomously, follow procedures, and interpret contract documents;
- An ability to understand and interpret contract documents including specifications and drawings;
- Experience in new building construction, major renovations, civil work, and the installation and commissioning of electrical systems;
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and a collaborative approach working with both client and construction contractor/subcontractors;
- An ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations;
