Job Overview:
The Associate Structural Engineer will be responsible for overseeing various projects, including performing site investigations, conducting structural analysis and design tasks, and supervising project teams.
- Perform site investigations to observe and document existing conditions and document structural deficiencies.
- Conduct structural analysis and design tasks for new and existing structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, and wood/timber buildings and related structures.
- Supervise and assist in the development of project plans, design calculations, specifications and lead the coordination with other design disciplines as required to deliver high quality engineering services.
- Provide responses and solutions to issues during the construction administration phase of projects.
- Utilize a broad assortment of technical and project management skills on projects that range from small renovations to large scale new construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality structural engineering services and expertise.
- Lead and manage project teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Develop and implement project plans and schedules.
- Manage project finances and resources.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering; Master's Degree a plus.
- 8 years' minimum experience in Structural Engineering practice.
- NY PE required; SE Licensure a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong mentor-ship skills.
- Ability to supervise, delegate tasks, and provide guidance to technical staff.
- Understanding and application of NYC and NYS code requirements.
- Experience in using various structural analysis software.
- Ability to multitask, work on multi-disciplinary teams, and consistently meet deadlines.
- AUTO CAD and REVIT experience a plus.
