Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our team in Dannemora, NY. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our construction projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications and building standards.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with building standards and project specifications;
- Inspect all materials upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure compliance;
- Document inspections and report any issues;
- Coordinate scheduling of subcontractors, consultants, inspectors, and vendors to complete each project on time;
- Monitor work and materials to ensure quality control standards are met at various stages of the project;
- Communicate with the project team and support each subcontractor to execute his job duties effectively and efficiently;
- Perform inspections or schedule inspectors to meet the varying safety and compliance regulations of each job location;
- Maintain a written daily log of visitors, job actions performed, materials expended, and problems resolved on the job site;
- Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage work loads of individual projects;
- Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessary;
Qualifications:
- OSHA 30 certification is required;
- A minimum of three (3) years of trade experience or comparable training in inspection of large-scale building projects valued above $1 million;
- A willingness to work inside minimum and maximum security prisons;
- An ability to pass a criminal background check;
- A willingness to respond to calls off normal hours and occasionally work extra hours to meet project needs;
- An ability to work autonomously, follow procedures, and interpret contract documents;
- An ability to understand and interpret contract documents including specifications and drawings;
- Experience in new building construction, major renovations, civil work, and the installation and commissioning of electrical systems;
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, and a collaborative approach working with both client and construction contractor/subcontractors;
- An ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations;
