Garden Center Retail Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service and a strong interest in garden and lawn care products. This role involves engaging with customers, providing product knowledge, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. You will play a key role in driving sales and maintaining the overall appearance of the retail space.

Duties

• Assist customers in selecting products that meet their landscaping and lawn care needs.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Operate cash registers, handle cash transactions, and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, including displays and inventory areas.
• Accept and assist with deliveries.
• Participate in inventory management tasks, including restocking shelves and conducting stock counts.

Skills

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele.
• Experience in retail sales or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, and shrubs is a plus.
• Proficiency in cash register operations and cash handling procedures.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• A genuine interest in details, especially in gardening and outdoor products will enhance your effectiveness in this role.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.25 - $15.37 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
