Gym Director
The Gym Director reports directly to the Gym Owner, and is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the gym, the management of the team, and planning for the gym’s future. Because of the magnitude of their responsibilities, a Gym Director must be a strong leader and team builder, while setting the example for all other team members in hard work and providing outstanding customer service. They must relate well to children, parents, and team members, and have superior communication skills. To teach the best classes, a Gym Director must be physically fit, energetic, and enthusiastic. They must be well-organized with foresight and attention to detail, as well as have the ability to juggle several tasks and adapt well to change. To ensure the success of their The Little Gym, the Gym Director must have a strong ability to market and sell the program at every opportunity.

Gym Director Desired Experience/Qualifications:
Proven management/leadership performance and achievement through experience in working with children and parents in related fields is required. Background or training in any of the following is ideal:

Gym Director Responsibilities:

Responsible for motivating and educating the Team on strategies to achieve enrollment and other business goals

Build business profit through maintaining and increasing student enrollment and other revenue sources, as well as managing expenses.

Efficiently manage program and staffing schedules within budgetary goals.

Oversee tasks and responsibilities of all Team members (Program Director, Assistant Program Director, Lead Instructors, etc.)

Responsible for appearance (cleanliness, organization, etc.) of facility and team

Assure all safety guidelines are met and maintained
Gym Director Duties:
Under the direction and supervision of the owner, position duties include:

Assist the Gym Owner in creating a teaching schedule and team weekly schedule including classes, birthdays, camps, Drop In Event, etc.

Plan and conduct all weekly Team meetings
-
Ensure that student records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner
-
Execute marketing and promotion efforts as determined by the owner
-
Manage class size, maintain student teacher ratios, manage vacation requests, illness, “no shows,” etc.
-
Maintain all personnel records. Deal immediately and effectively with Team performance issues. Document and take necessary corrective actions. Recommend salary adjustments.

Share the responsibility of classroom evaluations (completion of Q2s, feedback, etc.)

Participate in cleaning and maintenance of the facility
-
Complete and follow up on accident reports as necessary
-
Effectively resolve any customer concerns that Team cannot settle
-
Assist Team with parental requests
-
Work with owners and Program Director to plan and conduct events - i.e. Celebration Week, Camps, Closures
-
Work with management team in the recruiting and hiring of new team members, as well as the release of underperforming team members
-
Teach exceptional classes and deliver superior customer service in the lobby and at front desk as scheduled

Perform opening and/or closing procedures as scheduled
-
Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the owner within given time and quality specifications
