Little Red Wagon Daycare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Lead a classroom of young learners, supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that encourage exploration, creativity, and a love of learning.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and educational standards.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a high standard of care and learning.
- Mentor and guide assistant teachers, providing support and feedback.
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the daycare’s strategic planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Meet DCFS 407 qualifications, including a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and relevant college credits in child care and/or child development courses.
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Background check required.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood education setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development and evidence-based teaching practices.
- Exceptional classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide assistant teachers.
- Knowledge of licensing requirements and regulations for daycare centers.
