What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Desk Associate position at The Living Room Community Church?
Purpose:
The Living Room exists to love God, love others, and serve the world. This position supports the mission of the church through providing support to Pastors/ Leadership Team, Church Family Members, Ministry Leaders, and Staff (both employed and volunteer) in the day-to-day operations of The Living Room Community Church while ensuring the accurate and efficient operation of the church front office.
Parameters:
This particular position is advertised as 9 am -5pm Thursday and Friday, with a somewhat flexible schedule for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
A. Front Office
1. Welcome and direct guests in a courteous and professional manner.
2. Serve as “first voice” of the church for all phone calls. Demonstrate excellent telephone answering skills and receptionist support in a positive and friendly manner. Monitor answering machine activity. Transfer callers, as well as take and relay messages in a timely manner. Assist staff members with their desktop telephone needs as appropriate.
3. Retrieve, sort and distribute all incoming mail in a timely manner; process and post outgoing mail as requested. Ensure that stamps are stocked for office use.
4. Regularly monitor general church email account and distribute email to appropriate staff for consideration and response. Monitor email activity throughout the day anticipating constant communication. Respond to general church email inbox as appropriate, responding to inquiries within the scope of knowledge, researching information, if necessary.
5. Check paper supply in all campus copier machines (Fridays). Check reserve paper supply and notify office manager if supplies are low.
B. Administrative Tasks
1. Learn and operate proficiently in church database (Elexio) and update and maintain church database records with complete accuracy.
2. Regularly operate copy machine, prepare, fold, and stuff programs and inserts as needed.
3. Regularly work within Microsoft Office Suite to accomplish administrative tasks.
C. Public Facing Ministry
1. Ensure that all supporting weekend service information including printed weekend service program, inserts, and any other special requests are prepared and ready for the weekend worship services and any other activities or events. Deliver to designated areas on Friday afternoons.
2. Monitor supply of communication cards, giving envelopes, and pens at guest information and at each kiosk on campus ensuring that they are well stocked. Create and proactively replenish as needed.
D. Other Duties
1. Assist with preparation for special events as requested. Review supply needs and procure needed items for recurring annual special events as requested. (i.e. Easter, Christmas, Year-End giving).
2. Perform other tasks as requested.
3. Constantly seek ways to add value to the organization.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.66 - $17.00 per hour
