*Job Summary*
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Store Associate to join our team in a fast-paced retail environment at our organic grocery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the ordering and stocking of certain store products while also providing excellent customer service and accurately processing transactions. This role requires strong organizational skills, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle cash and credit transactions effectively. A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others are essential for success in this position.
Hours for this position are M, W, Th, Fr, Sat, 7am-3pm. Evening shifts required on occasion.
*Responsibilities*
- Determine and anticipate product needs and place orders from vendors accordingly.
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining product displays to ensure a well-organized shopping environment.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Handle cash, credit, and check transactions accurately while maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Utilize retail math skills to assist customers with pricing inquiries and product information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area and throughout the store.
- Support store promotions and sales initiatives by actively engaging customers.
*Qualifications*
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Strong retail math skills to handle transactions accurately.
- Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and staff.
- Experience in supervising or training team members is advantageous but not required.
