Summary:

Our hotel housekeeping laundry attendant is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, and folding all hotel linens and terry, ensuring they are clean, wrinkle-free, and properly handled according to fabric types, while maintaining a clean and organized laundry area and operating laundry equipment as needed; duties include inspecting items for stains or damage, removing stains using appropriate methods, and reporting any issues to the housekeeping leadership team.

Key responsibilities:

• Sorting and processing laundry:

Collect soiled linens and guest clothing, sort items based on fabric type and cleaning requirements, and load washing machines according to established procedures.

• Washing and drying:

Operate washing machines and dryers, selecting appropriate water temperatures and cleaning agents based on stain types and fabric care instructions.

• Stain removal:

Identify and treat stains using appropriate stain removal techniques, including pre-treating stains where necessary.

• Folding:

Fold clean linens and guest clothing according to hotel standards, ensuring a neat and professional appearance.

• Inventory management:

Maintain accurate linen inventory by counting and recording items, reporting any shortages or discrepancies.

• Laundry equipment maintenance:

Regularly inspect and clean laundry equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.

• Maintaining cleanliness:

Keep the laundry area clean and organized, including sweeping floors, wiping down surfaces, and disposing of trash.

• Guest requests:

Respond to guest requests for additional linens or laundry services, ensuring timely delivery.

• Safety compliance:

Adhere to all safety guidelines regarding chemical handling, proper lifting techniques, and laundry equipment operation.

Required skills:

• Attention to detail: Ability to carefully inspect items for stains and damage and handle delicate fabrics with care.
• Physical stamina: Capability to lift heavy laundry baskets and stand for extended periods.
• Organizational skills: Efficiently sorting and processing laundry items to ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Basic math skills: Accurately counting and recording linen inventory.
• Knowledge of fabric types and cleaning procedures: Understanding different fabrics and their appropriate cleaning methods, including stain removal techniques.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment: Familiarity with washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment.

Experience:

• Laundry, Janitor, housekeeping: 1 year

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 30 per week
