What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bell Captain position at The Lodge at Blue Sky?
Role Summary
The bell staff is the first person a guest sees when arriving at The Lodge at Blue Sky and the last person they see when departing, they are responsible for being personable, gracious, informative, and anticipatory in regards to all guest needs. It is the bell captain's role to make sure that the Bell Team is properly trained and offered continuous coaching as well as overseeing all vehicle cleanliness and maintenance and transportation needs for property happenings. The Bell Captain is responsible for overseeing day to day bell needs as well as looking ahead and anticipating guest needs.
Core Responsibilities
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that Bellman will assist with. Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
- Responsibility of ensuring all team members are trained and offered continuous coaching to improve guest and department experience.
- Maintaining all fleet vehicles, both inside and out, at all times, including washing, vacuuming, fueling, disinfecting, logging damages, and scheduling maintenance.
- Overseeing all group amenity drops.
- Coordinating transportation requirements for arrivals, departures, and on property happenings for leisure and group guests.
- Assisting with building the schedule based on upcoming property needs.
- Maintaining inventory and maintenance of complimentary summer and winter adventure items
- Be knowledgeable about all guests and groups arriving at The Lodge at Blue Sky.
- Ability to lead the bell team and keep the team organized and on task and lead by example.
- Upholding clear and consistent communication between Bell Captain, MOD, and Bell Team and leading daily rallies with FD supervisors.
- Suggesting and implementing new operating procedures to enhance proficiency and the guest experience.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
Required Qualifications
- A genuine affinity for interacting meaningfully and positively with Lodge teammates.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with colleagues and management to their understanding.
- Respect and care for guests and creating a positive memorable experience at Blue Sky.
- Must have a valid United States driver’s license
- Must be 21 years or older
- Clean driving record free of major offenses and/or multiple minor offenses
- Clear criminal record
- Willing to work a mix of shifts including morning, evening, holidays and weekends.
- Frequent or occasional need to perform the following physical activities: Reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting, climbing, grasping, turning, and lifting.
- Ability to remain standing for extended durations of time.
- Have frequent need to perform standing and walking activities related to inspecting the property.
- Respond to the general public and converse with staff.
- Must be able to lift equipment and/or luggage in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to run short distances.
- Critical thinking and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to make decisions under pressure and display comfort in a fast-paced environment.
