What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time MDS (Minimum Data Set) RN/LPN position at The Lodge at Mills River Health & Rehabilitation?
The Lodge at Mills River Health & Rehabilitation is currently seeking a part time MDS (Minimum Data Set) Nurse! Come with experience or start out with our on-the-job training program to learn the skillset required of MDS.
Qualifications
Experience:
- MDS, 1 year (Preferred)
- Or MDS-specific training
- LONG-TERM CARE, 1 year (Preferred)
Education and/or License:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Responsibilities:
- Participate in the admission process of prospective residents in terms of their nursing needs and appropriate placement.
- Determine potential Resource Utilization Groups (RUGs) and expense associated with a potential admission.
- Review all applications for admission.
- Complete and assure the accuracy of the MDS process for all residents.
- Maintain current working knowledge of Medicare criteria.
- Remain in compliance with the RAI Manual.
- Monitor Case Mix Index (CMI) scores, looking for potential risks and/or changes that may affect Medicaid reimbursement.
- Monitor Medicare assessment schedules and nursing documentation to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
- Demonstrable knowledge of state and federal regulations.
- Ensure the plan of care for each resident is accurate and up to date.
