WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Act as a technical resource for Property and Casualty clients and prospective clients in the areas of government compliance, principles of manufacturing, Workers Compensation administration along with auto, property and liability loss control. Provide expertise that can help clients develop a safety culture and to enhance the production, safety and quality within their workplace, assisting in personnel development as/when needed.
Provide assistance telephonically, electronically and in person. The LC Consultant is required to travel on a daily basis, meet and effectively interact with all levels of production and management members and represent the agency in a professional manner. The LC Consultant may be required to work non-traditional hours depending on the hours of operation and servicing needs of the clients. Most travel would be within 2 hours but there are times longer travel times will be required. The LC Consultant is available to advise, recommend and warn clients of potential loss drivers present in their business. He/she may also make suggestions for improvement/abatement and may provide assistance such as training when needed. The LC Consultant may also act as a liaison between clients and carriers in prospecting potential clients or during the renewal process.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE TEAM:
- Must be able to work collaboratively with clients to create service plans to help reduce the loss and exposure to risk.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization whether it be the agency, client, or carrier partner.
- Obtain the knowledge and skills required to effectively address issues relative to governmental compliance, quality control and statistical analysis as related to the insurance industry and loss control.
- Obtain/utilize technical expertise to assist clients in the determination of potential loss sources.
- Build rapport with business leaders and production associates and persuade them to take action against potential loss sources.
- Proficiency in MS office suite including PowerPoint is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Safety, an engineering discipline or business related background. Five plus years of professional service as a safety director, or LC Consultant with an insurance company. Proficiency in MS office suite to include PowerPoint (composition and delivery of PPT programs).
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization whether it is the agency, client, or carrier partner.
- Knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Workman’s Comp. Law and statistical analysis relative to industrial quality.
- General knowledge of Industrial Hygiene equipment and their applications
- Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene standards, safeguards and personal protective equipment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
