Job Summary
The Front Desk Associate - Engagement Center plays a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for individuals visiting our center. As a key point of contact, this individual will greet and direct visitors, answer phone calls, and perform various administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the center.
Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and guests in a friendly and professional manner, determining their purpose and announcing them to relevant staff members.
- Take and deliver messages as needed, ensuring timely communication and follow-up.
- Verify guest eligibility for entry into the Homeless Engagement Center using electronic systems, clearly communicating expectations and requirements to guests.
- Participate in training on evidence-based practices for effective communication and de-escalation strategies, as well as other required agency trainings and events.
- Answer incoming phone calls, determine caller purposes, and forward calls to relevant personnel or departments, providing callers with necessary information and guidance.
- Retrieve messages from voice mail and forward them to the appropriate staff members, maintaining open communication channels.
- Perform various clerical duties such as filing, copying, and collating as needed, supporting the efficient operation of the center.
- Accept, route, and track in-kind donations, advising relevant staff to ensure proper acknowledgment of gifts.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Office Manager, contributing to the overall success of the center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people.
- Three or more years' experience in administration, with strong computer skills and ability to operate business equipment used daily within the organization.
