We have a great career opportunity for a Staff Accountant, who will be a key contributor to the Corporate Accounting team.
SUMMARY: The Staff Accountant works as an integral part of the accounting staff and is responsible for auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating sales tax payments and returns. The role involves maintaining financial records in conformity with established objectives, standards, and policies while providing accurate quantitative information on our financial position, liquidity, and cash flows in accordance with GAAP principles and practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Examine and verify financial documents, reports, and records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP principles.
- Regularly reconcile bank statements to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions and identify discrepancies.
- Prepare daily cash flow and bank balances reports for management.
- Update daily Merchant fees and Settlements reports for Treasury.
- Prepare monthly sales reports for landlords.
- Calculate and prepare sales tax payments and other applicable taxes. Submit tax returns in a timely manner.
- Conduct credit and debit card reconciliations.
- Perform inter-company expense allocations to 4 locations.
- Reconcile cash deposits.
- Prepare and review Month End Accruals.
- Help to generate and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Proven experience in accounting roles.
- Familiarity with GAAP principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
