Reports to: Head of Lower School
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Teacher in using grade level instructional materials, analyzing data, and designing differentiated instruction for students
- Embrace and impart Lovett’s Core Values
- Cultivate a classroom culture that facilitates student voice, compassion for others, and a whole-child approach
- Supervise students in the classroom, dining hall, playground, and across campus during the school day and foster a safe, consistent, and supportive environment for students
- Participate in assessing students in a variety of ways such as administering reading and math assessments, conferring with students, and providing input for semester report cards and parent conferences
- Participate in and fulfill the responsibilities associated with the Associate Teacher Fellowship
- Collaborate with colleagues within and outside of the department and/or grade level on instructional planning, student support, and furthering the mission of the school
- Foster a positive parent-school partnership with Lovett families
- Engage in faculty and team meetings and ongoing professional development during the school year and summer
- Attend chapel, Open House, faculty in-service days, parent-teacher conferences, Saturday Admission Observations, designated school sponsored events, and professional development days
- Fulfill other Lower School duties as assigned

- Some familiarity with instructional technology, including interactive smart boards and Google Workspace

- Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, attendance and punctuality, professional courtesy, discretion, and ethical behavior
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger. The employee is often required to stand, walk, and reach with their hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
