What You'll Do

The Benefits Specialist will handle escalated employee and third-party inquiries and collaboration with vendors, including plan administrators and actuaries. Additional responsibilities include periodic reviews of third-party vendor calculations, processes, and communications. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.
What We're Looking For
- Serves as the contact for employee and third-party escalated issues and inquiries; escalates high-priority issues to management promptly.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with government laws, regulations, plan documents, and summary plan descriptions. Identifies potential compliance risks and develops solutions.
- Works closely with benefit plan vendors, including plan administrators, actuaries, trustees, and advisors.
- Works closely with procurement partners to ensure compliance with procurement processes and PO processes.
- Conducts periodic audits to ensure the accuracy of third-party calculations and data.
- Prepares for year-end/annual processing and reporting, including system preparation, reporting, analysis, and execution. This includes Form 5500 & 8955-SSA reviews, financial statement preparation, and coordination with external auditors.
- Manages project related to annual enrollment including communications and system set-up and testing.
- Ensures accurate funding for benefit plans and assists Finance partners with budgeting and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Works collaboratively with other internal departments (e.g., Leveraged Services, Legal, Payroll) to execute administrative benefit matters.
- Data management lead including tracking plan and program costs, performing audits, and participating in benefit surveys
- Oversees and maintains complete and accurate employee benefit records, manages related audits, and handles escalations from Leveraged Services issues.
- Maintains knowledge of and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, including ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA.
- Acts as a subject matter expert and partner for HR colleagues.
- Supports the execution of the U.S. benefits strategy.
- Develop and deliver employee communication materials, including benefit guides, newsletters, and presentations, to educate employees about their benefit options and changes.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 5 years of benefits experience
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of benefits regulatory landscape
- Customer service acumen / ability to deal with employees at all levels of the organization
- Strong written & verbal skills required
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with benefits administration systems / HRIS systems /payroll systems
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion
- Outstanding analytical skills, and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Form 5500 preparation & Plan Auditors preferred
- Experience with ADP payroll and SAP-HCM
- Experience with Alight
