Nutrition Assistant I (Full-time)
Required Skills & Qualifications :
Associate's degree in nutrition, public health, maternal and child health, or related field required.
Certified WIC Nutrition Assistant with college coursework in maternal and child health / nutrition is accepted in lieu of associate’s degree.
Description of Duties :
Conducts nutrition, breastfeeding / chestfeeding, and health education contacts for WIC Program applicants and participants.
Performs nutrition and breastfeeding / chestfeeding risk assessments, including individual education and breastfeeding / chestfeeding support for low-risk women, infants, and children participating in the WIC Program.
Conducts enrollments and certifications of WIC Program applicants and participants according to WIC program policies and guidelines.
Distributes WIC cards in accordance to established procedures and performs clerical functions to support WIC Program site operations.
Position requires a background check and health clearance.
