Maintenance Technician III

Job description

We are seeking a full time Maintenance Tech III to support our residents at Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant, a Continuing Care Retirement Community in Ellicott City, MD. This is a full time position and requires work 5 days a week, including some weekends and on-call responsibilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the Campus under the direction of Facilities Management.

2. To continually support and improve Facilities services that effectively address problems affecting both residents and team members.

3. To participate in training and instruct other members of the staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own.

4. To be an independent mechanic, able to analyze problems and to formulate plans to get work done quickly including procurement of materials, parts, etc., and necessary scheduling arrangements with a high degree of quality.

5. Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules (i.e., Lockout Tagout, JSAs), Safety Awareness information (such as MSDS) operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and team members.

• Education: High School Certificate plus two years technical training or equal, or two years experience.
• CFC license preferred
• Certification in HVAC a plus
• License: Have and maintain a valid Driver’s License
• The position requires expertise in any ONE of the following and basic skills in the remaining categories:
• AC and Refrigeration
• Electrical
• Mechanical
• Plumbing
• Kitchen equipment
• Carpentry and Finishing skills
• .Pneumatic/Electronic Systems and Controls
• Vehicles
• General Building

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.06 - $29.61 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
