Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced customer-focused Personal Lines Insurance Account Manager to join our Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Personal Lines Insurance, with a passion for delivering pro-active and consultative client experiences. In this role, you will provide crucial support and deliver outstanding service to our valued clients, team members, and insurance companies.
As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for quoting new business, managing client accounts, identifying coverage gaps, and implementing strategies to enhance retention and cross-sell opportunities. You will assist in client inquiries, processing policy-related tasks, and ensuring that all customer needs are addressed promptly and effectively.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):
- Identify, qualify, and develop personal insurance opportunities with new and existing clients.
- Handle client inquiries and provide prompt, professional, and courteous assistance via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Respond to basic client inquiries regarding insurance policies, coverage options, claims, billing, and general account information.
- Aid in the processing of policy renewals, endorsements, and cancellations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Work closely with clients to collect necessary information, documents, and forms for insurance applications or policy changes, ensuring completeness and correctness.
- Help manage client concerns by gathering relevant details, escalating issues as appropriate, and finding suitable resolutions to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Learn about insurance products, policy features, and claim procedures to assist in educating clients and providing them with accurate information and guidance.
- Assist in maintaining accurate client records, policy documents, and correspondence, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and company standards.
- Collaborate with internal departments, and outside partners, such as underwriting and claims, in gathering information, providing updates, and supporting the resolution of client inquiries.
- Contribute to administrative tasks, including data entry, document preparation, and policy documentation management, to ensure efficient workflow and organization.
- Maintain CE and participate in ongoing education and keep informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
- Other job duties / responsibilities, as assigned.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications):
- Active VA Property & Casualty Insurance License (required).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Personal Lines Insurance, preferably with an Independent Agency. Additional education in insurance, business, or a related field is a plus.
- Strong understanding of insurance products, coverage options, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and customer-oriented demeanor.
- Proficiency in quoting, servicing, and issuing Personal Insurance policies with various carriers.
- Proficiency using Agency Management Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach, in assisting clients and addressing challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive client information.
- Willingness and ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
