Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engine Machinist or Machinist Apprentice to join our busy team. The ideal candidate would be knowledgeable in micrometers and have a solid background in manual machining processes, training offered to any incoming employees. The ideal candidate would also have the ability to work with various tools and equipment. This role involves machining automotive, heavy duty, marine, equipment, etc. precision parts and components while adhering to strict quality standards. Responsibilities
- Tear down, wash, degrease automotive, marine, equipment, heavy duty engine parts
- Magnaflux heads to check for stress cracks
- Utilize bore gauges and other measuring tools to ensure precision in machining processes.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with team members to improve work flow, and troubleshoot areas that need improvement
- Ability to work closely with current staff to learn each machine process
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proficiency in basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Experience with reading and understanding micrometer measurements
- Familiarity with operating forklifts for material handling is a plus.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, including turning, milling, and grinding.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment is preferred but not mandatory.
