What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Houseperson | Rooms Assistant position at The Madison Concourse Hotel?
Our Housekeeping Housepersons are responsible for supporting our Room Attendants in maintaining the cleanliness of guestrooms and providing our guests with clean and comfortable accommodations, all while delivering exceptional service. This position typically starts at 8am on weekdays and between 8:30-9am on weekends. The ideal candidate is flexible and able to work a varying schedule from week to week, including weekends and holidays. The starting wage for this position is $15 per hour plus an extra $1/hour for all Saturday and Sunday hours worked.
Daily Tasks:
- Using the radio to communicate with housekeeping management and other departments
- Providing assistance to guests
- Collecting dirty linens, towels, and other items from guest rooms and deliver them to the laundry area
- Empty trash and recycling bins from guest rooms and common areas
- Delivering linen and other supplies to landing storage
- Collecting linen and trash from housekeeping carts
- Maintaining cleanliness and order in public areas, including hallways, elevators, and stairwells as assigned
- Assisting laundry as needed
- Reporting maintenance issues
- Maintaining neat and stocked storage areas
- Adhere to all safety and security procedures to provide a safe environment for guests and fellow employees
Qualifications:
- No previous experience required
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to multitask effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and interact with guests
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
- Reliable and punctual, with the flexibility to work weekends and holidays
- A positive attitude and a passion for providing exceptional customer service!
