Role Description
The Director of Accounting will play a crucial role in coaching clients through financial best practices, operational accounting systems, and scalable reporting structures within the MCOS framework. This is a full-time hybrid position based in Mashpee, MA, with flexibility for remote work.
The ideal candidate will not only possess technical accounting expertise but also the ability to guide business owners and financial teams in understanding their financial data and leveraging it for decision-making. This role requires a balance of financial leadership and consulting skills, ensuring clients can effectively align their financial processes with their overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Learn and implement the Maffei Companies Operating System (MCOS) to help clients achieve financial clarity and accountability.
• Coach business owners and financial teams on managing financial statements, budgeting, and financial performance reporting.
• Assess and optimize clients’ ERP systems to improve financial tracking, reporting accuracy, and business intelligence.
• Provide insightful analysis of financial data, identifying opportunities for profitability improvement and operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations while maintaining a focus on practical, business-driven financial strategies.
• Work closely with consulting teams and leadership to align financial processes with broader operational improvements.
Qualifications
• Proven expertise in financial statements, financial reporting, and budgeting with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Strong analytical skills with experience using ERPs and accounting systems to drive business performance.
• Finance leadership experience with a track record of improving financial operations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements effectively.
• Experience in consulting, business advisory, or coaching financial teams is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
