Job Summary:
The Main Street Academy (TMSA) is actively recruiting individuals with varying levels of experience, including recent graduates, to join our team in providing instruction for a range of specialized subjects. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in their respective fields, fostering student growth, and ensuring mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards. We are seeking educators for Art, Music, Physical Education (PE), Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE), STEAM, Agricultural Studies, and Computer Science. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited university (Conferred)
Certification/Licensure
- Must hold or be eligible to hold a Georgia Professional Standards Commission certificate in the applicable field (Art, Music, PE, CTAE, Agricultural Studies, Computer Science, STEAM or other relevant area)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Teacher Keys Effectiveness System (TKES) standards
- Provide content-related and age-appropriate instruction based on TMSA’s curriculum programs in the designated specialty subject areas (Art, Music, PE, CTAE, Agricultural Studies, Computer Science)
- Integrate appropriate technology into classroom instruction to enhance learning experiences
- Foster a positive and academically rich classroom environment that promotes active student engagement and development within the subject area
- Demonstrate knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment techniques
- Communicate responsibly with all students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership
- Facilitate home-school communication through conferences, telephone calls, and written communications (emails, notes)
- Collaborate with parents/guardians in all aspects of the student's educational program
- Adhere to all SPED, SST, 504, IEP plans and accommodations for scholars
- Prepare adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
- Maintain accurate student attendance and punctuality records
- Follow all county, state, and federal policies and procedures
- Uphold professional ethics and a positive school culture in all work-related activities
- Support TMSA’s goals, initiatives, programs, and processes
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Principal or Assistant Principals
Skills and Knowledge:
- Experienced in collaborating with teacher teams and adapting work to the needs of colleagues and students
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to utilize technology for communication and instruction
- Demonstrate organizational skills and initiative for working with minimal direct supervision
- Knowledge and experience using technology for communication, data analysis, gathering and organizing information for presentations
- Working knowledge of current research and resources in content areas
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Family Education Rights and Privacy (FERPA) requirements.
