Reporting To : IT Operations Manager

Status : Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Salary : $20 - 22 / hr

We are looking for a motivated, eager-to-learn individual to join our IT team as an IT Support Specialist. This is an ideal opportunity for someone currently enrolled in an Information Technology degree program who is passionate about technology and looking to gain hands-on experience in IT support. The role involves assisting with user account creation, imaging laptops / desktops, employee onboarding, managing PC inventory, and developing training materials. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (MOST OF THE TIME) :

  • New User Setup : Assist in creating and configuring new user accounts in Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365 or other relevant systems, ensuring access to email, shared drives, and company applications.
  • Imaging & Deployment : Help with the deployment of laptops and desktops, including using imaging software to prepare devices to company standards.
  • Employee Onboarding : Assist with the onboarding of new employees by preparing necessary hardware, software, and technical support to ensure a smooth start.
  • PC Inventory Management : Help maintain an accurate inventory of all IT equipment (laptops, desktops, peripherals), including tracking, auditing, and managing equipment lifecycle.
  • Training & Documentation : Work with senior IT staff to create user-friendly training materials, documentation, and guides to help employees navigate IT systems effectively.
  • Technical Support : Provide basic troubleshooting and technical support to end-users for hardware and software issues, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • System Updates & Maintenance : Assist with system updates, patches, and routine maintenance of devices across the organization.
  • Collaboration & Learning : Work closely with experienced IT professionals to learn new skills, tools, and technologies while contributing to the overall efficiency of the IT department.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Currently enrolled in an Information Technology degree program (associate or bachelor's degree).
  • Strong interest in learning IT systems, hardware, software, and networking.
  • Basic understanding of operating systems, particularly Windows (Windows 10, Windows 11).
  • Familiarity with hardware troubleshooting and basic software installation.
  • Experience with imaging tools is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office365 administration
  • Exposure to Active Directory or similar directory services.
  • Solid foundation in Help Desk support of various issues and providing customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel / management
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter / self-motivated)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to provide high-level customer service with astute attention to detail and organization
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to manage workflow amid shifting priorities
  • Willing to learn Company process and procedures, and learn / use proprietary software
  • Adaptable and dependable with a solid attendance record
  • Professional and respectful demeanor with all internal and external customers at all times
  • SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must have reliable transportation to conduct site visits and be available for evenings and occasional weekends
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance in compliance with Company policy
  • Must be able to drive in the dark if required
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Use standard office equipment, including : computer, phone, copier / scanner, etc.
  • Be stationary for periods of time
  • Relocate up to (25) pounds
  • Travel to and from offsite meetings

  • Monday-Friday from approx. 8 : 00 am-5 : 00 pm
  • This position may require occasional long hours to meet business needs, including being available for emergency needs
